Charles Sturt University is pitching in as a regional partner for Queer Screen Film Festival Australia, giving a nod to the local LGBTQIA+ youth and their mates. This first Youth Queer Screen bash lines up six short films cherry-picked from the Mardi Gras lineup, dishing out everything from cosy yarns to stories with a bit of bite, all from young queer creators who know how to keep things real.

It rolls out on Saturday 9 May 2026 from 6pm to 9pm at Got ya Back Producations on 56 Hollingworth Street in Port Macquarie. Ticket price sits at fifteen dollars, perfect for a low-stakes cinema night where the films are short enough to dodge that awkward mid-flick toilet dash.
