The is rolling out for junior grommets of any skill level, from total beginners who might mistake a wave for a puddle to those already dodging wipeouts like pros. Over four days from Thursday 5 March to Sunday 8 March 2026, kids get to hang with some of Australias grizzled coaches and actual professional surfers, picking up the essentials like staying safe in the ocean without becoming chum, age-appropriate drills that wont bore them to tears, sharpening board skills, figuring out why broccoli beats burgers for fuel, keeping gear in one piece, and sneaky competition tactics that might just win a heat or two. Its all free, running daily from 7am to 3pm at various beaches around the Port Macquarie Hastings region.

If youre in or near Port Macquarie, its an easy drive to spots in the 2444 postcode where the waves are waiting, minus the hard sell just good vibes and salty lessons before the school run.
