Head to Douglas Vale Vineyard for Seniors at the Vines, a laidback day out for the silver set near Port Macquarie. Gates swing open at 9:30am with a complimentary Devonshire Tea to ease you in, while the Port Macquarie Wauchope RSL Pipes and Drums provide a rhythmic wake-up call that might just get a few toes tapping.

Catch the duo As the Flow Cries belting out crowd-pleasing tunes in the Wine House from 11am to noon, then again from 1pm to 2pm, because one dose of nostalgia is never enough. Settle in for a light lunch or more tea courtesy of the volunteer whizzes, amble through the homestead and gardens with their 30 years of quirky history, and if the mood strikes, sample the wines on offer. Entry is free, naturally.
