Come along to Port Macquarie Library at 32 Grant Street on Saturday 21 February 2026 from 1.30pm to 2.30pm for a relaxed chat with local author Pete Harris and Leanne. Pete's a lifelong PDHPE teacher at Camden Haven High School, the sort who walks the talk on being a role model rather than just preaching it.

He somehow clawed his way back from a motorcycle wreck that left him with slimmer odds than a chocolate teapot in the trauma ward, less than three percent survival chance. During the long slog of recovery, he started writing with gritty honesty and that trademark dark humour about pain, identity and rebuilding a shattered life. He pulls equally from classroom chaos and hospital hell for a straight-up look at resilience. It's free but registration is required.
