OperationArt Workshops for Students is basically a full day where kids in Years 1 to 6 get to make a glorious mess and call it art. They will draw, paint, print, mix media and sculpt until their fingers are stained and their imaginations are exhausted. Specialist visual arts teachers are on hand to make sure nobody accidentally glues themselves to a table, and to push the kids a little further into creative territory than their classroom art lesson usually allows. It is designed for those students who are already a bit obsessed with visual arts. If your child is the one who comes home covered in paint and proudly announces they made a sculpture out of old cereal boxes and wishful thinking, then this is for them.

The whole thing runs from 9am to 2.30pm on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday, 11 to 13 August 2026 at the Glasshouse Artlab in Port Macquarie, corner of Clarence and Hay Streets. A single ticket will set you back 50 dollars and 60 cents, which is cheaper than buying a new set of art supplies and apologising for the carpet. No marketing fluff here, just a heads up that the event is on and your young artist might enjoy a day of structured creative chaos.
