Join us for a laid-back chat with Aussie crime novelist Matthew Spencer and our very own Leanne at the Port Macquarie Library on Monday, 28th July at 11.00am. Matthew's day job was at The Australian, where he spent two decades stirring the pot as a journalist, holding down the fort as the Foreign News desk chief and strutting his stuff as the Opinion Editor. He's got some impressive travel cred too, having scribbled for newspapers and magazines in far-flung places like Uganda and Kenya, and graced the pages of The Australian Financial Review and The Sydney Morning Herald.

His debut novel, Black River, has already made waves, snagging the 2023 Danger Award for Debut Crime Fiction and landing on the shortlist for the prestigious 2023 Ned Kelly Award for Best Debut Crime Fiction.
