Fancy yourself a master manipulator without actually being, you know, a master manipulator in a bad way The Port Macquarie Library has just the thing for kids aged 7 and up. On Thursday 17 July 2025, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, they are holding a session where you can build your very own simple marionette puppet. Once your miniature performer is strung up, you will get to practise the delicate art of making it come to life, or at least look like it is not just a block of wood with string.

This little adventure is part of the July school holiday program, and here is the kicker: it costs absolutely nothing. Zip. Zero. Nada. You just need to make sure you book your spot beforehand, because spaces are about as limited as a puppet's free will.
