Laura Fienor, an author who clearly doesn't believe in specialising, is popping into Wauchope Library for a yarn. She writes about everything from environmental and social justice issues to ancient philosophies and even a bit of the mystical. Apparently, she is quite passionate about giving education a good shake up to sort out systemic racism and help create societies that are a bit more compassionate and switched on. She has a few degrees to back it all up, including a Masters that delved into futures studies and traditional Indigenous knowledges, so she is well qualified to talk about, well, everything. She has also managed to pen two books while doing all this, titled Cutting-Edge Ideas: Empowering Agents of Positive World Change and The Infinity Connection: Cross-Cultural and Multidisciplinary Conceptions of 'Infinity'.

If you fancy hearing what she has to say, it is all happening on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Wauchope Library, located at 51 High Street. It is a free event, which is always a good thing, but you will need to register your interest beforehand. Probably best to secure your spot if contemplating the infinite, or just if you want a comfy chair.
