The Jazz Jam is on again at The Bowl on Thursday, 4th September 2025. It's the usual first Thursday of the month gathering, hosted by the local music teacher triumvirate of Andy Blackmore on keys, Leigh L'Anson on bass, and Mark Spence on drums. They'll be serving up a hearty helping of jazz, blues, Latin, soul, and funk standards, hopefully without too many wrong notes. It kicks off at 6:00pm and winds up around 9:00pm, giving you plenty of time to get home before midnight.

This shindig is open to anyone with a voice or an instrument, regardless of age or how many years it's been since you last practised. It's a relaxed affair for budding musicians to get a feel for playing with others and perhaps even try out some impromptu musical shenanigans. Consider it a friendly low pressure environment where you might just stumble upon your next great musical moment. The best bit is it won't cost you a red cent to get in.
