Here's your chance to shake hands with Ian Keast at the Port Macquarie Library on Friday, June 20, starting at 10:30 am. Ian, the big cheese of the Fellowship of Australian Writers' Port Macquarie Hastings Branch, is ready to enlighten you on all things literary. With a background in poetry and criticism, his work has graced plenty of literary journals and anthologies, which is just a fancy way of saying he knows his stuff. After a respectable stint teaching English, including a notable run as Head of English at Barker College in Sydney, he and his wife Ann decided to swap the classroom for some coastal chill in Laurieton.

The event is free, but you'll need to sign up. So don't worry, you won't have to break the bank to enjoy some brain food. Just be sure to make it out to the library, which isn't as stuffy as it sounds. Who knows, you might even leave with some poetic inspiration or at least a few good laughs.
