Nine drums mounted on the gallery wall wait politely until someone comes near. As you approach they start to vibrate and emit a pure sine wave. Their black skins read like little voids that pull your attention away from anything visual and straight into the sound. The drums sing back to whoever is close and quietly harmonise with one another, until the whole room behaves like an instrument.

The piece treats visitors as accidental performers. Movement and proximity coax tones from the drums, so the audience becomes the players and the space becomes a communal soundscape. No musical training required, just bring curiosity or the ability to stand very still and listen. Entry is free.
