The Cavalier Catchup rolls around on the second Sunday of each month, and July's installment lands on the 12th. From ten till noon, it's a low key chance for your pooches to sniff about and make questionable friends while you park yourself on The Terrace with a coffee. Your dog gets a free pup cup, which is basically a tiny cup of joy they'll inhale in three seconds. You buy your own drink, but that's the deal. Entry is free, so no excuses.

The whole thing happens at The Terrace at The Bowl, which is on Hastings River Drive in Port Macquarie. Easy to find, harder to leave if your dog has just discovered a new best mate. Bring a leash, bring a sense of humour, and be prepared to watch dogs do what dogs do best: eat treats, roll on the grass, and pretend they didn't hear you calling. It's not a formal affair. Just a Sunday morning with caffeine and cavaliers.
