Ever wondered if we could tweak historys script to dodge tomorrows disasters. Amitav Ghosh and Luke Kemp reckon the past holds clues for our messy present. Amitav dives into our rocky romance with the planet in The Nutmegs Curse and Wild Fictions, while Luke unpicks why empires crumble in Goliaths Curse, hunting fixes for our own teetering world.

Join them for a yarn with host Clare Wright on Friday 22 May 2026 from 10am to 10.55am at the Ross Family Studio on 30 to 42 Clarence Street and Hay Street in Port Macquarie. Tickets run at 14 bucks for adults, 9.50 for Glasshouse or Library members, and 11 for concessions per session.
