Ever wondered where your rubbish vanishes to once its out of sight. Take a free bus tour to the Kingfisher and Cairncross waste facilities around Port Macquarie-Hastings, and see how general waste, recycling and organics get sorted behind the scenes. You will wander key sites, hear straight from the team running the show, and pick up the basics on landfill tricks, organics crunching and material recovery – no magic, just practical stuff.

The tour winds up with a casual presentation and Q and A in the education spot next to the Materials Recovery Facility. Only 20 spots, so bookings are a must. Its on Tuesday 26 May 2026 from 8:45am to 12pm, checking in outside Players Theatre at 33 Lord Street, Port Macquarie.
